In celebration of its 30 years of advocating and promoting slimming, fitness, health and beauty nationwide, Slimmers World International... more
In the first ever Miss Bikini Philippines, Slimmers World International completed the search for the country’s representatives to Miss Bikini International and Miss Bikini World at the PICC Plenary Hall last May 25, 20008. From among 25 deserving candidates, two rose above their peers. Taking their first steps towards the world stage, Miss Pearl Kellie took the title Miss Bikini Philippines International and Miss Maria Elena Lopena won the crown of Miss Bikini Philippines World.
Perhaps there was something magical about the waters in Davao because both beauties hailed form the province down south. Kellie will head for the Miss Bikini International competition to be held in China, Lopena will be competing in Miss Bikini World in Europe.
Lopena brought home P500, 000 in cash and prizes while Kellie won P400, 000 along with the prestige of the title and the honor of representing the country. The 1st runner-up, Miss Beverly Ann Dungog of Marikina won P200, 000 in cash and prizes. The 2nd runner-up, Miss Melissa Cruz of Makati City took home P150, 000 in cash and prizes.
Special awards were also handed out to several candidates for their outstanding qualities. The Best in National Costume title was awarded to Lovely Matola of Cavite. Best in Talent was given to Maria Elena Lopena. The Miss Congeniality award sponsored by PLDT Landline Plus was handed out to Joyce Penanueva of Davao. Best in Long Gown went to Melissa Cruz. Miss Great Skin was awarded to Nadine Ignacio from Bulacan. Miss Photogenic was given to Erica Padilla of Marikina. Miss Toyota Alabang, a special sponsor’s award, went to two candidates, Lovely Matola of Cavite and Kristel Presado of Pasay.
Slimmers World International’s Miss Bikini Philippines 2008 is the biggest, most prestigious fitness and beauty competition ever, with bigger prizes and judging at an international level.
